This article may contain quest spoiling information! Requirements Travel money Method Mission 1 Find Gothfrid the Fireborn in northern part of Kastah and ask him for a 'mission'. He will let you know that the Academy can use some help in investigating Ethna. You will need training first however, and he tells you to visit Arkulius to join the efforts. Mission 2 Find Arkulius the Academy in Edron. He is on floor 3 from the ground in the most south-east tower. Ask him for a 'mission' and then for 'training'. He will give you a Lava Sampler and send you to collect samples from Fibula Dragon Lair, Darashia Dragon Lair and Venore Dragon Lair. Find an active Lava Hole and use the Lava Sampler on it. You seem to have about 20% chance to successfully collect a sample, if you fail you will take some damage. The Lava Hole respawns in about 5 minutes. One Lava Sample is required from each of the three locations to proceed. Venore Dragon Lair Located in the middle of Venore swamp. Get yourself to the deepest parts of the cave. For example, on east side (both normal and south spawn) you can collect samples from the five deepest ramps. Darashia Dragon Lair Located straight north from Darashia city. Make your way down to the Dragon Lord's and collect a sample from an active Lava Hole. Locations of holes marked on map below. Fibula Dragon Lair Located deep below Fibula.
