This article may contain quest spoiling information! Requirements Travel money Grapes Kastah Access Method Mission 1 Find Gothfrid the Fireborn in northern part of Kastah and ask him for a 'mission'. He will let you know that the Academy can use some help in investigating Ethna. You will need training first however, and he tells you to visit Arkulius to join the efforts. Mission 2 Find Arkulius the Academy in Edron. He is on floor 3 from the ground in the most south-east tower. Ask him for a 'mission' and then for 'training'. He will give you a Lava Sampler and send you to collect samples from Fibula Dragon Lair, Darashia Dragon Lair and Venore Dragon Lair. Find an active Lava Hole and use the Lava Sampler on it. You seem to have about 20% chance to successfully collect a sample, if you fail you will take some damage. The Lava Hole respawns in about 5 minutes. One Piece of Molten Lava is required from each of the three locations to proceed. Venore Dragon Lair Located in the middle of Venore swamp. Get yourself to the deepest parts of the cave. For example, on east side (both normal and south spawn) you can collect samples from the five deepest ramps. Darashia Dragon Lair Located straight north from Darashia city. Make your way down to the Dragon Lord's and collect a sample from an active Lava Hole. Locations of holes marked on map below. Fibula Dragon Lair Located deep below Fibula. See Deeper Fibula Quest for more information. Collect a sample from an active Lava Hole. Locations of holes marked on map below. Once you have collected all three samples successfully, return to Arkulius. Mission 3 Arkulius will send you for another test now that you have proven you know your way around volcanoes. You should now slay a Blazing Fire. Go to Edron Ruins (same cave as Demon Helmet Quest and Annhilator) and follow the route below: Mages below level 80 are recommended to use Mana Shield for the fight, as the Blazing Fire can combo pretty hard. Once you enter the portal the creature will spawn. Slay it and return to Arkulius. Mission 4 Return to Gothfrid the Fireborn to continue the missions. He will let you know that his last apprentice never returned after going to Ethna. He was carrying a key required to proceed and it is now up to you to find his corpse and the key. Follow the route below to loot the Old Key (8002) from the dead body. Start at the Minotaur spawn to the east. You need levitate or parcels to complete this mission. Once you have the key, return to Gothfrid the Fireborn. Mission 5 For your next mission you need to cool down five Lava Holes at the base of Ethna. You will recieve Vial Full of Cold Liquid to use. To access Ethna, follow this route: Once you are at the base of Ethna, use your cold liquid vial on the active Lava Holes. You have a 25% chance of success, and each failure will deal 150 damage to you. As you have put out 5 Lava Holes, you may return to Gothfrid the Fireborn to report your mission. Mission 6 You will now be asked to retrieve an even stronger fire protection spell then the one you got when first sailing to Kastah. Return to Alexander in Edron and ask him for a 'blessings'. Alexander will let you know that the only person he can think of to conjure such a strong spell is the "Mad Mage". This is a reference to A Prisoner. Make sure to bring Grapes to avoid another trip!. Go find him in Mintwallin and ask him for a 'mission' followed by 'kastah'. He will want to play a game with you now. Tell him 'game' and he will tell you a riddle. The correct answer is then 'silence'. For him to cast the spell however, you first need to give him some Grapes. Tell him 'grapes' and he will accept them and then cast the protective spell on you. Now head back to Gothfrid the Fireborn. Mission 7 As you are now protected from the heat inside Ethna, Gothfrid the Fireborn wants you to collect a lava sample from Ethna itself. Follow the Route to Ethna and then climb inside the volcano. Make sure to bring your Lava Sampler with you for this mission. Use the pick on the active Lava Holes, failing to collect a sample will deal 150 damage to you. There seem to be a 20% chance to collect a sample. Once you have a sample, report back to Gothfrid the Fireborn. Mission 8 ?
